GOD’S MISSION. Ephesians 1:4 ……he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world……. 1 Peter 1:18-20 You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the ages for your sake. Revelation 13:8b from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slaughtered. God’s Mission of Salvation for the whole mankind was established before the foundation of the World. When Adam and Eve sinned, God said to the serpent, that the seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent – the devil. Jesus, born of virgin Mary is the son of the Most High God. (Matthew 1:23 & Matthew 3:16,17) When Jesus took the baptism and came out from the water, the heaven was opened and Jesus saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove from heaven, and a voice, “This is my beloved Son in whom I AM well pleased”. As in John 3:16, God gave up His only begotten son for the Salvation of the humankind. Therefore, the head of devil was crushed on the Cross. Jesus rose again on the third day, the risen saviour was seen by His disciples and many more, all who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are saved to the everlasting life. Repent.. confess your sins.. your sins will be forgiven… you are chosen, your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life. God has completed His mission of salvation to all humankind. Now it is our time to enter into the Missions, are we? It is time that our life is mission oriented instead of some personal idealogue. Come join the mission with Divinebuzz.
St. Thomas the Apostle, one of the 12 disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Also called as the 'doubting Thomas', the only disciple who really touched the wounds of Lord Jesus and believed. The Mission to India, first was led by St. Thomas the Apostle on 52CE, a rich tradition of mission is still followed in the state of Kerala, where the Apostle first placed his foot. HIs Martyrdom in Chennai, now called as Thomas Mount, on a mount, while he was praying, the seed of Gospel bled and died and rose again in form of great Missiological expeditions in our great country India. Today, we remember the father of missions in India, ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE.

In 1793, William Carey, an English Baptist Minister came to India as a missionary but also as a man of learning in economics, medicine and botany. He worked in Serampore, Calcutta, and other places. He translated the Bible into Bengali, Sanskrit, and numerous other languages and dialects. He worked in India despite the hostility of the British East India Company until his death in 1834. Carey and his colleagues, Joshua Marshman and William Ward, blended science, Christianity, and constructive Orientalism in their work at the Danish settlement of Serampore, near Calcutta. Carey saw the dissemination of European science and Christianity as mutually supportive and equally important civilizing missions. He also supported a revival of Sanskrit science. Carey played a key role in the establishment of the Agricultural Society of India. Ward, beginning in 1806, published important commentaries on ancient Hindu medical and astronomy texts. In 1818 Carey and his fellow missionaries founded Serampore College to nurture a uniquely Indian variety of European science. (Courtesy - Wikipedia)
